The Siena was the first of 3 homes we built on the Hidden Valley Golf Course in Cottage Grove. In each project we wanted to keep the livability of the floor plans very similar: main level living with a master bedroom and bath, kitchen, living, dining, and laundry areas all on one floor. We wanted to make sure that the future residents could live on the main floor exclusively if need be, and utilize the other floor for entertaining and guest accommodations and/or kids.
With the Siena, we were able to make sure the home stood out as one of the only European styled residences on the street. The home is located about 70 feet from the 12th hole on the golf course.
The home was equipped with stained alder cabinets, granite and travertine slab countertops, and some exotic travertine flooring with glass tile accents. The master bedroom includes a bay window that gives unobstructed views of the golf course and the cascade mountain range. The master bath boasts an all tile shower with an arched entry, a whirlpool tub, and all high-end rubbed-oil bronze plumbing and lighting fixtures. The closet was custom designed and built by the DC team.
The powder room is small but elegant - a red marble floor, pedestal sink, and crown molding finish put the finishing touches on this bathroom. Across the entry to the master is the office. A glass entry door and a custom built-in book shelf compliment the soft green color added to the walls... all contributing to make the den a comfortable and convenient space.
In the main area, the foyer opens up to a vaulted great room with a custom designed mantel as the focal point. The overlooking kitchen was supplied with Jenn Air professional stainless steel appliances, ample food storage, and a large island big enough to sit 4 comfortably. A cedar deck is accessed from the dining area, complete with an exterior sound package and an amazing view.
Following the wrought-iron rail down the stairs, a wet bar and large entertaining room with views of the course welcome your arrival. Off the room is a bedroom with its own private deck and access to the golf course. Also nearby is the golf cart garage--this garage has a roll-up door and is large enough to store garden supplies, as well as house a golf cart that has a shared drive directly on to the golf course.
There are another two bedrooms with walk in closets, as well as a full bath downstairs to service the lower level. Each room has a view of the golf course. All rooms downstairs have a 10' ceiling.
The downstairs also ended up with almost 500 square feet of unfinished space with a slab already poured, as well as other storage space - perfect for multiple future uses.
In the end, we achieved our two primary design goals: Provide a very luxurious European feel, meanwhile creating a home that lives and feels much larger than its finished square footage.
