THE FAIRFIELD

The "Fairfield" was often referred to as our "Pottery Barn" home, as we used many interior details you will find in a Pottery Barn magazine. The home was designed to bring a traditional theme back to living - something that isn't found often nowadays. A formal dining room, separate family and living rooms, and an open loft set this home apart as different than what you will typically find on the new home market.

The high roof lines, shutters, fluted column and white front door sets off the exterior of this home. The windows were chosen with a traditional full grid pattern. A large transom was chosen to showcase the entry light fixture.

The foyer includes a marble floor, a column supported plant shelf, and an 18' ceiling. The main living and family room spaces have 18' ceilings, with a bridge and the loft separating the two areas. The formal living includes a marble surrounded fireplace, a custom built mantel, and a tv niche. The room also has beautiful views of Hidden Valley golf course.

After you pass through the arched walkway, the powder room is on your left and the formal dining is on your right. The dining room is outfitted with adequate lighting on dimmers, a see-through hutch accessible from both sides, and a serving window. The polished tile floor and marble border, the wayne's coating and the dark neutral color makes the dining room the crown jewel of this home.

All cabinets in the home were painted, as they are most often in a traditional home. The kitchen's cabinets were made to look like furniture, and include pull out shelves, a lazy susan and slide out garbage/recycle bin. The Jenn Air appliances include a slide in range, cabinet depth refrigerator and a built-in micro.

The master bedroom wing includes a very tasteful bathroom - subway tile, granite slab counters and granite floor accents are the first details that will catch your eye. The large frameless glass shower door, the whirlpool tub and chrome fixtures nicely furnish the area, and the high ceiling adds to the spacious feel. The master closet was custom built in house and has a nice lay out for adequate clothing storage.

The loft upstairs provides a reading nook with a built in book shelf, and an open area that could be used in many different ways. The hand-built wood railing surrounds the loft, which not only enables a view down to each living space, but allows for a stunning view of the fairway and the Cascade Mountains.

Just around the corner is the bonus room, which includes a built-in window seat with storage underneath, as well as shelving units for movies, books, etc. The two upstairs bedrooms have walk in closets, and share a bathroom close by. The bathroom has a white tile mosaic floor with black accents, a black cabinet with a white marble countertop and a matching black framed mirror. All the details of this bathroom, with the contrasting chrome fixtures, follow the carefully designed traditional theme.

This project finished beautifully, with many thanks to Mary Cooper - one of our on-staff design consultants. The traditional home is her specialty, and this home does not disappoint.
